There's something for everyone in Greater Lithonia.

Just 15 minutes east of Atlanta, Georgia, the southeast corner of DeKalb County is a booming area -- the last frontier of one of the premier counties in the southeastern United States.

HOUSING -- See the Housing page for information on houses, apartments, and condominiums.

SHOPPING -- Opened in October 2001, the beautiful Mall at Stonecrest features five anchor tenants and 120 specialty shops. The shopping area is the core of an innovative live-work-play community.

Located at Turner Hill Road ad I-20, the mall attracts shoppers from DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry, Rockdale, and surrounding counties.  When completed, the Stonecrest complex will employ more than 8,000 workers.

EDUCATION -- DeKalb County is blessed with a uniquely diverse ethnic population.  That diversity brings a richness to the education system in the county, and Southeast DeKalb in particular.

With fast access to I-20, residents are within easy driving distance of nationally recognized colleges and universities and top-quality two-year post-secondary schools.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION -- The Greater Lithonia/Snapfinger Woods area is situated on MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) bus lines, with easy access to the MARTA rail lines that criss-cross Atlanta.

HEALTHCARE -- DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale provides access to physician appointments, X-rays, and lab tests -- all in a single visit.  The Medical Center at Hillandale also offers rehabilitation and wellness services.  A member of the DeKalb Regional Healthcare System, the Center is located at

5900 Hillandale Drive
Lithonia, GA 30058
Phone:  404-501-WELL

RECREATION -- Right on our doorstep is Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, a smaller, more natural granite sister to beautiful, historic Stone Mountain Park, which is just a few miles to the north.  And a few miles to the southwest is the Botanical Garden at Georgia Perimeter College, one of the premier wildflower centers in the southeastern United States.

PUBLIC LIBRARY -- Founded in 1907, the Lithonia Public Library is considered to be the oldest in DeKalb County.  The state-of-the-art library provides computers for residents' use and onsite educational program.

WEATHER -- We're located in the sunny south where winters are mild and summers are beautiful.
